A Sudden, Terrible Stillness - A personal story about the crash of Continental flight 1404, which ran off the runway and crashed into the ravine below. Written by a man who was on the plane when it crashed.

Personally, the experience of being in a plane crash is one I'd rather not have to go through - shocking, I know - but this testimonial is a quality description of the trauma. For those of you who were curious as to what being on a plane running off a runway would feel like, well, this would be a good place to start. It's well written - although there's always the possibility that Newsweek spruced it up a bit- and it's certainly a visceral piece of writing.
